Five heavenly restaurants in Milan

Reading Time: 3 minutes

It’s that time again. Time for some food tips. And before you’re wondering why this doesn’t have a pizza as the main photo, well, I simply couldn’t wait to eat all of that food, since it is too good.

By the way I posted a post on the blog about the best gelato places in Milan some time ago, you can find them here. I wish I had their recipes but the fact that they don’t give them away is probably a trick to get me to their country again, and let me tell you, it works haha. But of course I do not only like gelato (love is a better word), but their food in general is just simply too amazing. And I also have the luck (or my parents just thought me well) that I am a really easy eater who is willing to try (almost) everything. Unless the ingredients have something to do with cats, dogs, monkey, tiger, sharks, dolphins, etc. You all get my point. New experiences when it comes to trying food are always something special in my opinion. I can get used to new flavors (spice it up baby!), new cultures, new values, new eating habits ( I’m a real pro in eating with chopsticks since London because, luckily, my Korean friends had a lot of patience and learned me the right way).

But now I will make sure when you will go to Milan you are visiting the most amazing restaurants. The best pizzas, the best sandwiches, trendy places or just overall extremely cosy and wonderful restaurants. Its all-in here, and can you imagine that these are only five restaurants? There are so many more to explore, so be my guest, but make sure you don’t skip these ones.

And do not, I repeat, do not forget to enjoy your diner. With that I mean, just relax, I know a lot of people who are, when they are traveling, even in a hurry. In my mind that just doesn’t make any sense at all. Make sure that you take enough time dining out, or just for diner in general. As a matter of fact I think this should be the thing for every important food break that you’re taking, but we all rush sometimes to work of school. To be honest, I am one of those people who is always, no scratch that, most of the time, in a rush in the morning when I am in my own country. Why? I don’t have a clue. I think that is the pace of our society here and we are used to it. It’s a bad thing, I know.

To come back to the subject, just enjoy your food. No matter what you’re making or getting, and sit down while talking (no phones allowed) to the other people who are sitting at the table with you. It is so much more worth it.

So first up is Sorelle Capitone, located at Viale Monte Nero, 73. I would recommend you to take a pizza here, but don’t be shy and take a starter, or a few starters, as well. I heard some great stories about their seafood, so try it.

Then we have I Capatosta for the best pizzas ever, and that says something. I mean, the overall taste of pizzas in Italy is incredibly good, but this place is just true heaven. You can find it next to the canal on this adres: Alzaia Naviglio Grande, 56. And while you’re next to the canal anyway, explore that neighourhood as well, during the evening it is full with people who are not only eating there but also go to bars there. And during the day the atmosphere is there completely laid-back, just how I like it.

After the best pizzas in town we have Panino Giusto, for the best (you can guess it already) sandwiches in town. Easy as 1,2,3 and tasty as 4, 5,6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Seriously, good food and perfect for a lunch or takeaway. Besides the really good sandwiches it is also a restaurant.

Up next is lovely Ratana. This place is a bit trendy, which I like, and the food is again, like heaven. The owners and waiters are so friendly and it is just an overall amazing place that you certainly don’t want to miss. It is located at Via Gaetano de Castillia, 28.

Last but not least we have Peperino. I absolutely adore this place since it is cosy and has a really nice atmosphere. The pizzas are really tasty as well. And it is close to one of the most busy places during the evening/night in Milan. So take a sit here and enjoy your evening further at one of the many bars or/and clubs. Piazza XXV Aprile, 20154.

Buon appetito!
